New Media project I'm co-producing with Camp Broadway and
The Johnny Mercer Foundation. Alicia Mathewson and I
will be filming our teaching methods for these lyric-writing
workshops so that more teachers can access our program
around the country. We are teaming up with the VERY
talented cinematographer Charley Randazzo from
Believe Entertainment to make this happen. Filming
will be over the next two weeks.
**11.3.08 - I just played the lead an independent film,
The Laughing Girl, directed by Lindsey Gordon.

Reprise Theatre Company, and I am continuing as Program Coordinator
and Teaching Artist for the Johnny Mercer Foundation.
**7.18.08 - Just
got back from a wonderful and hard long weekend I
coordinated and taught in New Orleans at St. Marks Community
Center. Students were ages 8-17. That city, those kids,
that community needs love. Can't wait to go back.
**7.12.08 - July 11th was the
performance of Free Style
at the Ford Amphitheatre (a show I helped create,
teach, and Associate Direct) and the best night of my
entire life. I have been working on this project since last
October, and I don't think there are enough words to
describe what last night was for me. This was something
I've been wanting to share since I stepped into an
inner-city classroom about 4 years ago.
Outside of performing, I feel it was been my
"calling" to be in a classroom trying to get youth to
express themselves through different art forms.
After working so intensely with over 1000 students on
Free Style alone, I
now feel I have a responsibility to share what I know and am
learning from these students.
This was the first-step to that mainstream awareness I've
been dreaming of. Last night was completely
overwhelming. I'm still trying
to organize my thoughts around it.
What I do know, is those students felt SO important.
They felt the love in that audience and the
celebration of their truth.
This gives you a taste of some of the work I've been
doing over the last 4 1/2 years and why I'm addicted to it.
**6.1.08 - Mercer teaching artist,
Alicia Matthewson, and I are working on a new media project
for the Johnny Mercer Foundation to put our "Accentuate the
Positive" lessons on-line so that there's more access
nation-wide to our programs.

Check it out.

culmination of the program I created for Reprise Theatre Co
