My student, Josue Garcia, from FREE STYLE is being honored at the awards for his work on lyrics to his song "MAN UP," with composer Desmond Child. FREE STYLE was a lyric-writing program I developed for ASCAP and Reprise. We chose 15 out of the 1000 students I taught and paired them up with established composers who wrote music to their lyrics. FREE STYLE, directed by Matt Gould and associate directed by me :) was performed at the FORD AMPHITHEATRE. Hooray Josue Garcia!!!!10.1.09 - I'm launching my VOICES UNHEARD program at the Willoughby/Watts Boys and Girls Club through the organization Peace4Kids serving Foster Youth. I love love love this organization and these kids. Check out their website for volunteer opportunities!
